Budcoast - SaltSpring OG Shark
Joint Venture has issued a voluntary recall for the following product:
Bud Coast Salt Spring OG Shark 3.5g Tins with the Lot number CC22SEP2021.001
It has come to our attention that there have been trace amounts of powdery mildew found on our Bud Coast Salt Spring OG Shark SKU # 1038652.
This batch of OG Shark passed Health Canada lab testing, and was thoroughly inspected by our wholesale team.
While the issue is not systemic throughout every flower, we have made the decision to recall the entire batch to ensure the safety of our customers.
We will be revising and reviewing our current SOPS and processes and implementing additional checkpoints and training aids for our processing team to ensure that we are able to better identify problems before the product hits the distribution centres and store shelves.
With each and every bud hand-inspected this should not have happened. When it comes to cannabis we are dealing with a product that is variable from batch to batch, plant to plant, and even bud to bud. This unfortunate voluntary recall has signalled a need for further diligence by JVCC at point of packaging.
The entire team at Joint Venture is dedicated to providing Canadians with premium craft flowers and we take this responsibility very seriously. Implementing this voluntary recall at the first sight of anything less than a top-quality product is just one of the steps we will continue to take to ensure that you can continue to trust and enjoy Joint Venture Craft Cannabis and our cultivation partner’s products.

Our sole purpose at Bud Coast is to showcase exceptional flower grown by local micro cultivators. We pride ourselves on being able to provide consumers with a top-quality product and despite our thorough wholesale lot inspection process, we did not catch this issue.
We understand that when consumers spend their money on a premium craft product they expect it to be pristine, this does not stand up to our quality standards so we are implementing a voluntary recall of this product.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause your store and ask that you please contact BCLBD to return your unsold products. If your delivery arrives today we ask that you return the tins and DO NOT put it into your POS system or onto your shelves.
